Word reached Choteau that Mrs. Jess Keithley died at her Springville Iowa home. The Keithleys were homesteaders west of Choteau during the land boom and she once worked on The Acantha staff in 1912 and 1914, leaving the town over two decades ago.

Mary Ellen Meadows Weds Leslie C Burns at Cho teau Home Ceremony

Mary Ellen Meadows and Leslie C Burns were married at a Christmas day ceremony in the bride's grandmother's home in Choteau. Rev. Bert A Powell officiated as family and close friends attended. The bride, a Buffalo teacher and Montana State College alumna, wore a gold wool dress. The groom, nicknamed Judge, is the son of former mayor C W Burns and works with engineers on the Great Falls air base project. They began a brief wedding trip before she resumed teaching and he his air base duties.
