Highway Patrol warns snowmobile operators on roads
Montana Highway Patrol warns that snowmobiles on public roads remain illegal pending licensing. Patrolman Richard Chase cites past questions of legality and urges operators to heed road conditions as winter snowpack increases. In three months 96 traffic citations were issued in Teton County, led by excess night speed. An accident north of Dutton on U S 91 involved a 1961 Rambler and a 1966 Pontiac with minor injuries and about 1200 dollars damage. Chase advises slower speeds and adapting to winter road conditions.
