Reduction in long distance telephone day rates will save the public about 5000 dollars annually and take effect January 1, 1930.
1931 Highway Appropriation Now Available
Washington reports the Department of Agriculture allocated more than 72 million dollars in federal aid for road construction in fiscal year 1931. Secretary Hyde says states may begin preparations for expenditure during the next construction season. Montana receives 1,552,865 dollars. Congress may be asked for a larger western road funding.

Glacier Park Roads to Be Oiled Next Year
Washington reports all Glacier national park roads with significant traffic will be oiled next year. Congressman Scott Leavitt secured assurance from National Parks Director Horace M. Albright.
