Teton County Harvest Ops Nearly Complete This Year
Harvesting in Teton County is near finish with spring grain and barley remaining. Winter wheat yields average 20 to 25 bushels per acre, spring wheat and barley 10 to 15, up to 20. Poor yields but high grain prices may offset. Farmers wait for fall moisture before seeding, as sub moisture is lacking. Stubble baling is common to feed cattle amid hay shortages from drought and reduced irrigation water.
