Registration days at the State University of Montana are set for September 12 and 18 this year. New and returning students must complete registration on these days, with regular classes starting September 14. Old students are urged to register promptly to avoid matriculation penalties and extra fees.
Directors levied a 7.50 per share assessment on capital stock on August 12, 1916, payable at the Helena office by September 22. Unpaid stock on September 28 becomes delinquent and will be sold at public auction on October 30 to cover the due amount and costs. J C Ricker Secretary Helena Montana. The board continued hearings on proposed raises and reductions to 1916 assessment lists. Notices were issued by the clerk directing affected taxpayers to appear August 10 to 12. After deliberation the board directed additions and increases to numerous properties and items including land improvements, hotels, stock cattle, engines, and machinery, with adjournment sine die by clerk E. C. Gee.
Department of the Interior Land Office in Great Falls Montana gives notice that Samuel M Valentine of Bole Montana holder of a homestead entry filed intention to make three year clock to establish claim on land described in section 3 township 23 north range 3 west Montana meridian before A C Warner A S Commissioner in Choteau Montana on September 5 1916. Department notice lists Cora C. Bateman of Chateau Montana who filed desert land entry June 13 1911 serial 022287 for lots SE NE and E SE section 35 township 23 N range 6 W Montana Meridian. She intends final proof by purchase under the 3rd paragraph of section 5 act March 4 1915 before A C Warner.
