Dearborn Fire Under Control After Large Conflagration
The Dearborn river area in the Lewis and Clark forest burned about 6000 acres last week. At the peak 230 firefighters worked to contain it. now 130 are sufficient. Three portable pumps with 1750 feet of hose aided the effort. The Twin Buttes game preserve was destroyed. A separate fire in the Lubeck district near Glacier Park is also controlled with 28 men on site.
