Notice from the Office of the Register of the State Land Office Helena Montana dated July 10 1906 announces an August 17 public auction at Chateau County Court House for sale or lease of state land in Teton County. Minimum sale price ten dollars per acre with option of all cash or 30 percent cash and balance in 14 annual payments. leases issued for five years with annual rent in advance and two sureties required. The list provides tract by tract details including acreage and minimum lease amounts.
Proceedings detail multiple days of the 1906 Mont ana county equalization session at Chateau with Chairman E. Bollerud and Commissioners Cowgill and Dennis. Notes include notices to interested parties, protests on assessed values, reductions in stock cattle and mortgages, military roll adjustments, and final adjournment with next session dates.
The board met in Chateau at 2 pm August 13 1906 for a special session. Crockford Nichols Sweet Grass asked for a retail liquor license and was granted.
