The Tetah county preliminary budget fixes the mill levy at 35.4 for the coming year up from 32. General fund expenditures drop by 11,693 while the bridge fund rises by 14,576 and the poor fund by 36,602. Noxious weed and airport funds also rise. road and cemetery funds stay the same. Taxable value is 8,708,000 with total anticipated needs of 174,110.

The Teton County PMA committee fixed 1951 crop support rates for oats barley and flaxseed with no storage payments. Loans and purchase agreements run through Jan 1952 with a 30 day delivery notice. storage charges apply to warehouse stored grain. Road improvements in Chateau area funded jointly by state and federal programs are planned with several oiling projects scheduled and contracts to be let this fall.

Pilot Burned as Plane Explodes After Emergency Exit
Early Sunday a NAAC pilot, Ain Ishee, crawled from a mono plane near the Ike Denison ranch west of Bynum cemetery. The craft scraped a wheat field, hit a road, and burst into flames, destroying the airplane. Ishee suffered burns to his legs face and hands but survived.

Magazine Sales Planned in Area By Legion Group
The 40 or 8 club of the American Legion post at Great Falls will start magazine subscription sales in Choteau and north Teton county next Monday. The fund raising drive sells Crowell magazines including Colliers to buy life saving equipment for the area. Proceeds last year bought two portable oxygen administering units used at Great Falls Central fire station and sheriff’s office. This year’s buy will include eygen tents to be housed in county seats around the Great Falls area. Subscriptions will be sold in all area counties by Vorder Holliday and Ralph Leischru with Bill Riggin, Montana residents active in the program. Customers should request a letter of authorization from the 40 or 8 and a local American Legion endorsement.
