Secretary Lane Urges Farm Settler Benefits Over Speculators
Secretary Lane argues for prioritizing farmers over land speculators in irrigation policy. He notes 1,200,000 acres are irrigable, but only 650,000 are irrigated, with most remaining land privately owned. Lane calls for leniency to debtors, easier terms for irrigating farmers, and relief on building payments while insisting on timely operation and maintenance charges. Northwest Farmstead.
