Air Medal Awarded to Sgt Raymond Rowley in Vietnam
Raymond S. Rowley, son of Mr and Mrs Smoot Rowley of Chateau, received the Air Medal on July 3 near Pleiku Vietnam for combat aerial support of ground operations. An aircraft maintenance supervisor in Company E of the 4th Infantry Division 704th Maintenance Battalion, Rowley entered active duty in February 1951 and arrived in Vietnam in September 1966 after serving at Fort Bragg. He is a 1950 Chateau High School graduate and attended Brigham Young University.
