Women urged to join nursing as war demands grow

The Red Cross calls for 37 500 skilled nurses for army and navy by July 1 1919. English women already support military hospitals and munition work, while U S nursing programs expand with army school for nursing offering a three year course. Boys Given Big Farewell For Camp Dodge Departure

The 131 Teton county boys leaving Chateau for Camp Dodge Iowa were given a grand sendoff. A parade through town led by the Chateau band proceeded to the Power Morgan garage for a banquet for about 400 hosted by the Ladies' Industrial. Rev Ritz acted as feastmaster and honored soldiers including G M Moss Walrater TV 0 Larson and H F Sewell Conrad. Miss Dorothy Miller Red Cross nurse praised her selection to go to France.

Judge and court reporter returned as district court convened. Leda Corwin vs George Corwin ended with a custody decree and fines for noncompliance. Bonin divorce granted. Keenholtz facing forgery charge with bail set at 750 dollars. Swingley sought to remove Chas LePage as guardian of Mrs LePage and appoint himself. LePage resigned due to war service and J L Sherburne was proposed as guardian.

Methodist notes announce schedule changes and conference dates

There will be no preaching services next Sunday. Sunday school at 11 30. Wednesday August 7 at 8 p.m. Rev J A Alford or Walier will preach and hold the last quarterly conference of the year. Sunday August 11 the pastor will preach in the morning Chautauqua in the evening. Annual conference will convene August 13 at Havre.

The Teton County Council of Defense heard a case between W H Scott and the South Pondera Ranch Company over water use for Brady irrigation. After testimony, the council ordered a ten day period for Scott to use the ditch while granting the company an exclusive right of way, amid ongoing litigation between the parties.

Official Montana data show over 800 penalties for food rule violations in ten months. About 150 firms were ordered to quit, 500 paid Red Cross sums or paused operations, and others faced fines or license revocations. Notable sums include Jaburg Bros. 20000 and Romeo & Co. 12800.
