Grass Seeding Tips For County Farmers And Ranchers
County farmers and ranchers are advised on timing for dryland and irrigated grass seeding. For tame grasses like Smooth Brome spring seeding is preferred, while native grasses such as Green Needlegrass favor fall seeding. Emphasis on firm seedbeds, seeding into stubble if wind is a factor, weed control by mowing or 2,4-D application, and benefits of good grass management for soil and livestock costs.
