McDevitt Sentenced To Two Years In Cascade County
Thomas McDevitt was sentenced to two years in the penitentiary for grand larceny in Great Falls. He stole $34 in cash and two watches from S. M. McDonald on April 4. He pleaded guilty in Cascade county district court and received the sentence from Judge Leslie after no objections. An attorney had been appointed to represent him but with little to do.

Helena April 24 Judge Hunt in the United States court made perpetual the restraining order issued about a year ago by Judge Knowles enjoining County Treasurer Heyfroe of Missoula County from selling for tax on the property of certain half breeds living on the Svathead Indian reservation. The case involved many new legal points and the decision is of far reaching importance It is expected Missoula County will appeal to the United States circuit court of appeals.
