Teton County Board Sets April 1949 Proceedings and Actions
The Teton County Commissioners met April 4 1949 with Peebies Edwards and Lee presiding. They approved a vendor claim and cancelled sale of Lot 20 Block One Hirshberg addition and cancelled a bid call. In the afternoon Rex Magnuson Everett Thornton agreed to fence the Poor Farm with materials supplied by the county and labor by the two men for 25 dollars. A Missoula company representative discussed machinery and equipment. The board adopted a resolution on private sale of county real property.

County approves oil lease for Teton lands to Tom Carney
The Board of County Commissioners authorized the Clerk to lease lands in Teton County described as B% EXN4 Section 13 to Tom Carney of Great Falls for oil and gas development for five years starting April 6 1949 with a 25 cent per acre cash bonus and 25 cent annual rent plus a 12 percent royalty. The action followed a public sale that failed to yield a sale.
