Montana Cattle Declared Brucellosis Free by USDA
Montana became the 30th state certified brucellosis free by USDA APHIS after successful eradication efforts. Cattle and dairy herds were screened under MCT and BRT programs with only 18 infected Montana herds found in 1972, and Montana aims to sustain disease-free status with continued surveillance and destruction of infected stock. Glacier County joined the list on February 26, completing the state certification.
