Tremont Hotel Fire and Rebuilding in Chippewa Falls
A blaze destroyed the Tremont hotel in Chippewa Falls during a night performance at Mitchell's Hall. Firefighters and residents saved most lives. the hotel is being rebuilt as a large, firesafe structure on Bay and Spring streets. The new Tremont features seven suites per floor, fifty employees, marble and brass interiors, modern plumbing, guest rooms with baths, and extensive public rooms. Architects and builders are named along with contractors for furniture, carpet, and fixtures. Acknowledgment is given to local fire brigades and steamers that aided salvation.
