Seven miles south of town Lester Harper shot and killed Whitt N Everitt during a feud over prior remarks. Sheriff Allen arrested Harper and jailed him in Vernon. Everitt leaves a wife and children, parents, sisters, and a brother. funeral held with Masonic honors at the Everitt graveyard. The Banner offers sympathy to the bereaved.
