The Moultrie Ga Chamber of Commerce selected the West Florida route after hearing claims from towns along three proposed paths. The route includes Tifton Moultrie Camilla Bainbridge Marianna Cottondale Chipley Bonifay DeFuniak Milton and Pensacola. Delegations argued for their segments before scouts rendered a decision in favor of West Florida due to shorter distance and strong county commitments to build.
