The regular session in City Hall approved drainage along section 29 from Chilliwack Central road to Dunnville creek under the Drainage and Water Courses Act. Tender for Evans road grading from tram line to Sumas road at 1.50 per chain was accepted. City funds and cooperation discussed for Soowaplie Indian Reserve road within Cultus Lake area.
The committee left the matter with the Chairman if Miss McAllister resigns. Tenders for supplying wood to Cheam Rosedale Hast Chilliwack and Camp Slough schools at four dollars per cord and for Atehelitz and Sumas at one dollar per cord were favorably received and approved, total amounts to $1118.21. The report was adopted.
The May 28 meeting of the Municipal School Board lists Chairman Robertson and Trustees Webb Denholm and Parker. Peter A Hughes proposed a salary increase to 875 monthly. the secretary to offer the amount. Applications were heard for teachers at Promotory Flats Atehelita Suklis and Suklis School cases, with investigations and resignations to be considered.
