Gene Cooper, superintendent of Automotive Equipment at the Fort Worth and Denver Shops, will depart tomorrow for Galesburg Tl to take the role of Road Foreman of Engines for the Burlington. He has held the Fort Worth post since August 15, 1959, and a replacement is expected to be announced within days. Mrs. Cooper will accompany him.

Delegates Named for State Teacher Convention in Austin

Weather Bureau officials credited new tracking and warning methods for Donna's destructiveness as the most damaging tropical storm since 1886. Dr. F W Reichelderfer said the Donna watch from its Sept 2 sighting 1300 miles east of Puerto Rico was the most complete in history and saved hundreds of lives.

Cotton Gins Set For Bumper Harvest in County
Five county gins report open for business with most cotton coming from irrigated acreage. Tele Gin undergoing repairs and four gins posted 47 bales today versus 73 on Sept 10 last year. Weather caused late planting and a slow start, but officials predict the best cotton crop in years with weekly totals to be surveyed through harvest.
Polaris Test Rocket Buried In Rubble
At Cape Canaveral UPI reports a Polaris test rocket sunk with 14 tons of rubble at the Atlantic seabed after a crash seconds after a submarine launch. The failure followed prior tests by USS George Washington and the USS Patrick Henry, jeopardizing plans to declare Polaris ready for sea patrols next month.

City To Await New Models of Trucks
City Manager Louis Sally announced the council will postpone buying a gravel hauling truck and trailer until 191 models arrive.
