R. B. Jack Turner longtime Childress resident died Sunday at Wills Point after a stroke. He managed CP Sanders Lumber Co in Childress for years and later owned a lumber yard in Wills Point. Funeral services will be held there. His wife was Virginia Crain, a former Childress resident.

The Police Department reports multiple thefts in northeast Childress. Five or six batteries were stolen from cars near Milton Havins service station.
