Mrs. Cordell Hull widow of former Secretary of State died in Staunton Virginia at age 79. She had visited her sister in law Irene Witz and passed away at 12 30 a m est Friday. Washington March 26 Up House investigators pressed their Reds in religion inquiry with testimony from the former wife of an ex Communist about party activities in Baltimore 19 years ago. Mrs Mary Himoff described as the party s education director for Baltimore in the mid 30s was summoned to a hearing by a House Un American Activities subcommittee. Members want her version of a disputed visit to party headquarters in New York s Union Theological Seminary. The Rev John A Hutchisson now at Williams College denies ever being in party offices or cooperating with leaders. Earl C Reno Himoffs ex husband testified that Hutchisson and the Rev Joseph Nowak visited his office in 1935 seeking advice on cooperating with the Communists and that they joined two front groups. Reno said Mrs Himoff attended the conference.

County seeks 200 cows to start artificial breeding program
A last effort will be made this weekend to secure the 200 sign ed nations nests to begin the artificial livestoc breeding program for farmers and cattle men in this county.
