More Floats Sought for Old Settlers Parade

Rites Today For Former Resident Of Kirkland
Funeral services for Arthur Preston Brown 76 of Jericho formerly of Kirkland will be at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Groom. Brown died Friday in the Groom hospital. Burial is in Jericho Cemetery. He was born September 8 1892 in Arkansas and moved to Donley County in 1911 from Kirkland. He married Alida Shoop July 4 1914 in Clarendon. His wife died earlier this year. He was a farmer stock man for 50 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Groom. Survivors include sons Andy of Jericho and C F of Amarillo, sisters Pearl Alexander of Atlanta Tex and Mittie Endsley of Bloomington, brothers Frank and Barney of Bloomington, and four grandchildren.
