The Richest Man in Bogota a TV Review
Television critic Rick Du Brow praises NBC s The Richest Man in Bogota a fantasy about a geiger counter seeking prospectors in Colombia. Lee Marvin stars as a sighted outsider in a valley of blind people who fear contact with the world beyond their mountain home. The drama blends adventure horror and a poignant romance as a native girl Miriam Colon aids his struggle to escape and reveal a broader reality.

In Search of Light and Courage in a Remote Valley
A plot summary describes two lovers fleeing into a valley where natives murder the female, leaving the male to escape and later be shown as a wealthy blind advocate in Bogota. The tale echoes 1984 themes with brainwashed society and a universal hero who preserves sanity. The drama features redemptive courage and love.
