Beer Lobbyist Blasted Over Hawaii Governor Conference
Gov Daniel defended his plan to attend the Hawaii governors conference criticizing Robert Q. Smith Wholesale Beer Distributors of Texas for calling the legislature back after the regular session. Daniel said he would pay his own expenses for the June 26 to 29 meeting and rejected charges that his actions were politically motivated. He argued avoiding three special sessions could save money and faulted Smith for arrogance and misrepresentation while noting the travel costs were not at the state’s expense.
