Vicious storms drenched the Texas South Plains and Panhandle with six inch rains and baseball size hail. A tornado near Amarillo damaged a J. D. Hankins Dies in Little Rock Former Childress Minister
Rev. Joe H. Hankins of Little Rock Ark a former Baptist minister in Childress died Thursday morning of a heart attack at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock after a three week illness. Funeral services were tentatively set for Saturday at First Baptist Church in Little Rock. Hankins led Childress First Church from 1929 to 1937 and is survived by his wife of 1923 Markham two sons and six grandchildren.
