A Childress County couple, Bob D. Hayes and Wanda Hayes, were sentenced in Dallas federal court by Judge Robert M. Hill to two years and one year respectively for misapplication of bank funds and aiding and abetting. They were indicted in January on theft by check totaling 58,304 tied to cattle payments to First State Bank of Childress, drawn on City State Bank of Wellington. Wanda Hayes was employed at the Childress bank. Bob Hayes was a cattle buyer.
