The Texas delegation will be housed at the Sheraton Park with 400 rooms reserved and overflow at the Shoreham. A Texans reception for Gov and Mrs Connally will be held January 17 at the Statler Hotel.

Texas Holiday Death Toll Rises In Auto Crashes And Fires
United Press International reports a bloody Texas start to the holiday period with five deaths in a head on crash near Houston and three in a San Antonio fire. Funeral Rites for Ben Marrs Held in Paducah
Funeral services were conducted for Benjamin Hamilton Marrs Sr., 71, at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Paducah. Officiants included Rev. Franklin Swaner, Rev. Robert Beck, and Rev. Joe P. Self. Marrs died at 11:20 a.m. Thursday at Richard Memorial Hospital after a three week hospitalization for a heart attack. Born January 22, 1893 in Hopkins County, he was a retired farmer, rancher, and bank employee who had worked 22 years at the First National Bank of Paducah and had lived in Cattle County for 53 years.

Shotgun Fired Into Crowd In North London Bar
Police arrested 27 year old Herbert H. Croome on suspicion of firing a shotgun into a New Year crowd at a North London bar. He faces charges of attempting to murder David Blackman who was wounded in the arm. Two others, a man and a woman, were also injured. Croome pleaded innocent and was held for further investigation. He is the sixth suspect in London's rising shotgun violence cases linked to a bartender attack on Christmastime.
