Mother of Local Woman Dies in Paducah
Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Mae Franklin 66 of Paducah were held at 2 p m in the Church of Christ. Interment followed at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Paducah. Born January 18 1895 in Georgia she moved to Cottle County in 1942. She served as dean of women at Ranger Junior College and headed the Cottle County Welfare Department for 18 years. She died Sunday morning in Paducah after a stroke. She was mother of Mrs. Jeff Davis of Childress. Survivors include her husband two sons two daughters three brothers five sisters and 10 grandchildren.
