Boston Strangler Captured in Lynn Massachusetts
Albert H. DeSalvo, the Boston Strangler, was captured in Simon's Uniform Co in West Lynn after escaping Bridgewater State Hospital with two others. He surrendered without a fight, saying he did not bother anybody, as authorities traced a nationwide manhunt and offered rewards totaling 15000 dollars. Police praised all officers involved while investigations centered on a transfer from Bridgewater to Walpole State Prison for security reasons.

Soldier on leave returns from Turkey with Army unit
Spc 4 William Robert Reed known as Butch from Childress spent almost a year in Turkey with the U S Army Security Agency. He returned to the United States in February and visited Washington D C Virginia and Dallas before arriving home February 7. He plans to depart March 16 for San Francisco with likely assignment to a Hawaii base. Reed enlisted April 12 1965 after high school graduation. He trained at Fort Leonard Wood and pursued Army Intelligence training at Fort Devens and Fort Meade before deployment.
