Violent Death Toll Light In Spite Of Slick Roads
A United Press survey counted at least 13 deaths over the weekend in Texas despite slick roads. Victims included Hazeal McElroy, 57, Eden agriculture teacher, and Ronald McGuiffie, 14, an Eden FFA member, in a truck rollover near Brookshire. Other deaths occurred in traffic crashes near Rendon, Round Rock, and Houston area fog incidents, with two train collision fatalities and several drownings offshore of Carswell AFB.

Elmore TH Dodson, 92, founder of the town of Dodson near Wellington, died at his Wellington home Saturday night. Funeral rites are set for Tuesday at the Nazarene Church in Wellington with Rev. John R. Ferguson officiating and Dodson Cemetery burial. Survivors include his wife Aida Bodson, two daughters in Fort Worth, and a son in Dodson. He helped found the town, aided MKT Railroad through, and remained active in farming and ranching.
