Fourteen indictments against eight defendants were returned by the Childress County Grand Jury in session yesterday as announced by District Attorney John T. Forbis. Named defendants include Bob Ray embezzlement five counts, James Spurlock forgery, Leon Hays burglary, C L Whitlock second offense drunk driving, Rosendo Rosales two forgery counts, Mike Martinez two forgery counts, William Groves Stokes burglary, and Erbert Bailey assault with intent to murder. Hays received an eight year sentence in district court. A summary judgment for Bill Gee in Edward Young vs Gee and Burch was also granted yesterday.
