O'Neal Sharp, operator for Continental Trailways, announced for Place Five on the Childress Independent School District Board of Trustees. The seat is currently held by Regina Henley who plans to retire at the first April meeting with two years remaining in her term. Bill Bennett announced for Place Six, Charles Carter not seeking re election, and Clint Crawford seeks re election to Place Seven.
The Bobkitten Boosters will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the West Texas Utilities Hospitality Room.
The Childress Bobcats and Seymour Panthers square off at 7 p.m. Saturday in Quanah to decide the District 2AA title. Panthers won the first round, Bobcats the second, in a winner take all showdown.
The Eastern Star will hold a 7 p.m. meeting Monday at the Masonic Hall to honor Past Matrons and Past Patrons.
The grand jury is scheduled to report to the Courthouse at 10 a.m. Monday.
The petit jury is ordered to report to the Courthouse at 9 30 a m Tuesday. The summons directs jurors to appear for service and potential deliberations.
A singing event runs from 2 to 4 p.m. today in the Veterans Building. Outstanding area singers are expected to perform in quartets trios and duets in a community music hour.
