Final rites held for Roy Mock in Childress

Roy Mock sixty one died Sunday afternoon after several days critical illness at Childress General Hospital. Final rites were held at the Church of Christ with Harrell Collard and Rev J O Haymes officiating. Burial followed in Childress Cemetery under Newberry Funeral Home direction.

School Trustee Elections Set for April 6 in County Districts

Elections for the Childress Independent School District and county boards will be held April 6 with a 30 day filing deadline for the Childress district and 10 days for others. At a board meeting Warn er Stevens and Roy Key filed petitions for re election, with Key requesting withdrawal and Stevens remaining a candidate. County board vacancies include member at large Arlie Key and Precincts 2 Bernie Steed and Precinct 4 M B Morris. Two voting boxes needed at the courthouse and one at the Junior High for the district.

Rotary Club Lunch At Presbyterian Church

Childress Rotary Club members will hold their regular noon luncheon Wednesday at the Presbyterian Church replacing Hintel Childress. President Gaines Highsmith announced the group will dine with delegates from the February meeting of the North Texas and Southern Oklahoma Development Association.
