The first measurable rain of 1967 fell in Childress last night. Rain began before 6 p m and ended after 7 p m delivering .10 inch downtown and .14 inch at the FAA airfield. Higher totals north of the Red River at West Ranch and C A Mitchell’s farm reached about .47 inch. Mrs F E Biddy reported .18 inch. most other areas saw only traces.

A cold front swept Texas, bringing unseasonably warm spells ahead of it and cooler air behind. Panhandle recorded sub-freezing gusts while dust rose in the southwest. Mrs. Hildarene Harris, a postal clerk's wife, gave birth to quintuplets four girls and a boy at Jewish Hospital of Brooklyn a week early. One infant was stillborn, but Dr. Morton A.
