Stevenson’s Son Seriously Hurt In Auto Accident
Adlai Stevenson’s son John 19 was in a head on collision on US 20 near Goshen Indiana. He was taken to Goshen General Hospital in serious condition with a broken kneecap and multiple injuries. Two Harvard classmates William North III 19 Lake Forest Ill and William Boyden Jr. 19 Chicago were killed. Another classmate James Gilligan 19 Nebraska City Neb injured. Truck driver Fred Gill 29 Detroit Mich was not hurt. The accident occurred as the Stevenson car headed home from college for Christmas with ski gear.

Earls Charged with DWI in Childress Arrest
E. C. Earls of Childress was arrested by city police about 6 35 PM Tuesday and handed to county authorities. He faced a DWI charge and pled not guilty. Bond was set at 1000 and he remained jailed in lieu of bond per County Attorney James Cutcher.
