Smith Funeral To Be Held Here
Funeral services for Sidney Jack Smith will be held at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon at the South Side Baptist Church. Rev. Ira L. Parrack will preside with Rev. Gordon Highfill and Rev. T. C. Jordan assisting. Burial in Childress cemetery by Richerson Funeral Home of Shamrock. Smith died at Childress General Hospital Thursday morning. He was born October 16, 1893 in Dickens Texas and resided at 510 Avenue B Southwest. He was a trucker and construction worker, lived in Shamrock 13 years before moving to Childress 10 years ago, and was a member of South Side Baptist Church. Survivors include wife, two sons Sidney A. Smith of Artesia New Mexico and Maxell Smith of Poplar Montana, daughter Mrs. Bob Creasy of New York, brother Leslie Smith of Roaring Springs, sister Mrs. T. H. Duval of Republic Kansas, mother Minnie L. Smith of Spur, stepdaughter Mrs. Oral Lane of Childress, and eight grandchildren.
