The U S Court of Military Appeals rejected a blanket ban on news and pictures about the My Lai massacre. The ruling says the presiding colonel can screen prejudicial publicity and that publishers must ensure accuracy while courts guard against outside influence.
Pentagon sources indicate about 10,000 tons of packed chemical weapons from Okinawa will be relocated to the United States starting this month or January. Five shipments are planned, each around 2,000 tons, with gas restricted to GB VX and mustard agents. Shipments will move from Okinawa to Bangor, Maine, then to Umatilla, Oregon for disposal or storage.
Bill Hanes of Dallas told Rotary Club members there are only 37 congressmen who truly represent rural areas out of 435. Fire at a three story nursing home in Notre-Dame-du-Lac Quebec killed 40 to 58 people. Searchers recovered 38 bodies before halting for welfare officials to assess further victims as snows fell. Police chief Sgt Cyrille Charron said records burned complicating exact counts.

Three American helicopter crewmen freed from 3 ½ months in North Korea were in generally good condition after medical checks. An Army spokesman said they are tentatively due to depart for the United States Thursday morning, with Col Paul Sheffler noting their morale is positive and that all have spoken with their families.

Israeli troops raided southeast Lebanon destroying a guerrilla base at Jebbel Rus on Mt Hermon, killing 12 Arab fighters and wounding many others. One Israeli soldier died and five were wounded as the force withdrew after a 2 1/2 hour battle.
