Pupils May Still Get Polio Shots for First and Second Grade
Dr. G. C. Fox, county health physician, announced this morning that first and second graders who were out of the county on the shot dates can still receive polio or diphtheria vaccines. About 200 shots have been given and 306 were sent to Childress to be administered. Parents of missing children are urged to have the shots now. no charge is involved. Bailey Boy Taken To Amarillo Hospital
James Bailey aged 14, son of Mr and Mrs Clyde Bailey of 104 Avenue C SE, was transferred from Childress General Hospital to an Amarillo hospital for special treatment after a bicycle collision near the Carvu Drive In theater. He suffered a fractured pelvis and skull fracture and was described as very serious. the driver was Mrs Della Fouceno of Big Lake Texas.

Blaze Threatens Azle Business District
Firemen from five communities battled a two hour blaze that destroyed the Gulf service station and cafe on SH 199 near Azle. The fire, discovered at 2 20 a m by O H Robertson, prompted cooling of an underground gasoline tank and protection of a nearby lumber yard.
