Two-car Head-on Collision Injures Local Woman
An almost head-on crash at a blind intersection about five miles northeast of Community Center left one person slightly injured. Drivers wereJess Windell Vandiver and James Ray Hackler, both of Childress. Mrs Hackler suffered a forehead cut, was taken to Childress General Hospital by ambulance and treated. Both cars sustained considerable damage.

Eppie Marlow Gaither 80, longtime Carey resident, died Saturday morning in Childress General Hospital after a week in care. Funeral services set for 2 p m Monday at the Childress Church of Christ with ministers W R Craig and T Roy Finley officiating. Burial in Carey cemetery. Survived by three daughters, one sister, one brother, nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Born July 11 1880 in Tennessee, family moved to Carey in 1890. he was a retired merchant and farmer and a member of the Carey Church of Christ.

The six year old round up held Friday drew 117 youngsters for fall enrollment, Superintendent J W Hamilton said. Wilson School registered 52, Junior High 25, Robert E Lee 20, East Ward 20, and Ji Rhoads will hold its round up next week after Friday registrations were postponed for rehearsals. Bill Ausband Killed in Auto Accident Near Pilot Point
Funeral services for Willie Lee Ausband 38 of Sanger Texas were held at First Methodist Church in Sanger. Interment followed at Valley View Cemetery Sanger. He was killed Thursday night when his car left a farm road three miles west of Pilot Point while returning to Sanger from Whitesboro. He was an insurance salesman at death and had previously lived in Childress where he was a food distributor. Survivors include his wife Ouida and one son.

School Releases Hazing Policy And Enforcement
School Principal Garland Terrell announced a hazing policy to be enforced. The rule allows suspension up to one semester for hazing and permanent dismissal for flagrant cases.
