Auction Sells Motels Held by Nowlin in Lubbock Case
In U S Bankruptcy Court in Lubbock Vaughan B Nowlin of Childress saw two motels sold. The Ranchouse in Childress went to High Plains Building Corp Amarillo for 210000 while the Crossroads Motel in Vernon fetched 181000 to Robert Calloway of Vernon. About 30 people attended the sale Brister said. A ranch sale failed and only Nowlin airplane and personal property from the old Childress depot were disposed of. Nowlin faces two counts of worthless checks and posted 92500 in bonds. Creditors have until May 5 to file claims and IRS liens may affect recoveries.
