In Nashville three campuses reopened as gun battles with police continued. Police arrested 54 people in the day’s outbreak, while six youths and two girls were detained on inciting to riot charges. Molotov cocktail activity and car shootings were reported as reporters’ car was shot at.

UPI reports a combined American and Vietnamese assault on a Communist battalion near Saigon left at least 166 Viet Cong dead while 17 Americans were wounded. The push forced guerrillas into surrender or death, with ongoing fighting noted around the Doi Ma River and a fortified village in the Central Highlands.

David Lyle Glover of Childress was arrested by the highway patrol Sunday for driving while intoxicated. He was arraigned in county court Monday morning and pled not guilty, with bond set at $750 per County Attorney Clarence Carter's records.
