The sixth annual convention of the National Poultry Butter Bee Association convenes in Chicago Monday through Wednesday at the Motel Sherman. Registration with secretary Chas McNeill, badges issued, banquet Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. with complimentary tickets. Detailed programs cover by-laws, speeches, reports, tours, and elections.
Chicago OCT 25 The onion market shows slow trade with shippers consigning medium stock to major markets while fancy stock goes to carlot operators. Bottom Indiana prices are believed reached, with growers paid 30 to 25c for stock stored this week. Carrots yellows and reds quoted with bulk and sack prices, f o b loading stations.

Receipts stay steady. colder weather could reduce supplies. Quality improving though some frost affected lots appear. Quotations unchanged from last week with creams 29c extras to 22c packing stock.
Chicago observers report from the butter and eye board show this week listing F. H. Faries of Philadelphia R. E. Pearsell of Blin Ti and B. F. Gabriel of New York City among the visitors at the event in Chicago on October 25.
Butter receipts from May 1 to last Saturday totaled 1,414,645 tubs, up from 1,346,770 last year, with weekly receipts 52,476 vs 44,373. Monday trading was more active. market about a half cent higher. Creamery extras sold around 31 to 31.5c, firsts 29 to 30.5c, packing stock 24c, demand steady but rain on Wednesday kept buyers away. overall quotations unchanged as week closed.
Washington DC October 25 reports from the Department of Agriculture show the United States apple crop condition at 67.8 on the first of the month, up from 39.8 a year ago and above the ten year average of 53.7. The September 1 reading stood at 67.9.
Receipts of eggs from March 1 to the week ending Saturday show 3,914,400 cases compared with 4,000,710 year ago. Week ending numbers: 60,386 cases versus 65,351. Monday 5,282. Tuesday 9,?. Wednesday 10,900. Thursday 10,022. Friday 6,761. Demand strong for good fancy eggs, especially new laid stock, which is scarcer. Mixed inferior stock trades slowly. storage eggs quiet. Prices: extra fresh 32 to 36c. extra firsts 29 to 31c. firsts up to 28c. refrigerator fancy 24 to 25c. firsts 24 to 24c. seconds 21 to 22½c. whites 42 to 50c. browns 38 to 40c. storage April 23c on call. Friday new laid scarce, market unchanged.
New York reports heavy receipts this week with 90 cars sold and prices on fowl ranging from 14% to 16 cents for chickens and turkeys, while dressed poultry stays quiet. Demand remains strong despite oversupply, with top prices for dry picked and fancy stock and continued movement of overgrade chickens.
Chicago observers report a fairly strong poultry market with overall active movement. Light weight hens weakened, geese demand remains firm ahead of Thanksgiving, and springs see speculative buying while dressers hold back unless prices justify the risk. Receipts were heavy early, easing later in the period as prices fluctuated.

Beans, rice, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers and peppers show varied demand. homegrown stock remains available with lower quality reducing value. Prices listed for beets, carrots, pumpkins, squash, okra, okra, mangoes, and shallots reflect recent supply from nearby farmers and California stock.
Washington Oct 25 according to Agriculture Department figures the national average potato crop condition at month start was 85.1 up from 62.2 a year earlier and 76.2 on the ten year average. The department estimates a total yield of 401 million bushels versus 293 million in 1911 and 349 million in 1910 with an average yield of 108.8 bushels per acre. Last year yielded 30.9 bushels per acre while the ten year average is 96.8.
The second semi annual meeting of the Minnesota Butter Egg and Poultry Assn. will be held in St. Paul on November.
