In Brawley California on May 28 the first car of cantaloupes left by express for New York based E R Brackett Company arriving May 30 for the Monday market. It carried 295 crates of Carnation brand 13 of Aurora brand and 76 of Gold Seal brand. Speich led the shipment with an extra effort. A second car shipped by United Marketing Company left Wednesday with 260 Gold Seal crates and 63 crates split among Duncan Campbell W S Fanveett C A Weaver and G M H Wagner Sons bound for Chicago for Monday market. Additional cars planned Thursday depending on receipts as the season starts.
