The Interstate Commerce Commission completes its 12 year investigation into Southeastern Refrigeration charges. It orders reduced standard refrigeration rates from Florida Georgia North Carolina South Carolina Virginia to Central Freight Association territory Buffalo Pittsburgh west to the Mississippi and parts of Wisconsin Michigan Ohio Indiana. The decision says reasonable future charges for fruits vegetables berries and melons to Central Freight territory are set. citrus and vegetables charges deemed unreasonable are reparations due.

El Centro California May 14 Interest in the Imperial valley cantaloupe deal centers on the first shipments this week ahead of smoderate sales later this month. Charles Freedman ships the first car carrying 20 percent stumbos 30 percent standards 30 percent ponies and 20 percent flats along with melons from Alex E Engelman Co bearing Power and Sweet Eatin labels. The car also includes Y Aoyama Co honey balls the first to accompany the initial cantaloupe shipment. The express car is bound for Joseph Justman & Co New York for Sunday night sale. A second car is planned as the first straight Sweet Eatin labeled shipment.
