Hood River Ore head of Davidson Fruit Company left for the West after closing his season and taking about 1000 carloads of fruit to New York as distributor. Chicago May 4 There was an easy feel in the carrot orange market this week with prices declining under liberal supplies. Trade was sluggish as California carlots arrived on track with some cars showing heavy decay. Carrots quotable at 1.50 to 2.75 per box depending on size quality and condition. Florida grapefruit moved fairly well at good prices when fancy and of desirable size. There was variation in quality with stacks rough and pale. Carlots quotable at 8 to 4 per box and some fancy lines at auction brought nearly. California lemons easy and quoted carlots at 2.85 to 3.60. Offerings ample and trade slow due to cool weather.
