Egg Crop Outlook in Virginia and Other South Atlantic States
New York, March 5. An average egg crop is expected this spring in the Southern Atlantic Coast states. Reports from Virginia and Maryland points project varied weekly shipments for March through June, with many locations noting 10 to 20 percent higher or lower production than last year and hens on hand as a key variable. Several towns anticipate increases, while others foresee declines, and some note 25 to 30 coop weekly poultry moves.
