Kansas City July 29 R Koonce Co Pine Bluff Hot Springs and Mc Gehee Ark will not pay their bills Early in July mention was made in The Packer that the concern owed McHenry Bryan Bentonville Ark for apples and now comes Frank T Phillips of San Benito Tex who says Koonce Co owe him several hundred dollars for tomatoes they ordered Mr Phillips commenced to ship the firm tomatoes in May As they did not remit and as I was shipping them almost daily I advised them would be remittances daily or on receipt of invoice On May 23 R Koonce Hot Springs wired that check was mailed the day before for invoices to date and in this same telegram ordered more goods for R Koonce Co at Pine Bluff At different times Pine Bluff ordered for Hot Springs None of these tomatoes were consigned all were ordered Finally I sent letter and statements by registered mail and received return cards I then drew drafts and the drafts have been returned out of them with a notation on back will write Koonce Co apparently care little for their reputation They will re answer letters or telegrams from The Packer asking an explanation or sans for their failure to pay bills
