No Organization of Potato Men at Halstad
Fargo North Dakota July 27 A meeting of 100 farmers from the Red River Valley at Halstad Minnesota failed to perfect an organization under the Minnesota Potato Exchange. State organizer G Rubinow said the aim is to sign up at least half of the commercial acreage and noted 700 individual members already signed. The Red River Valley covers about 140 000 acres and is a prime potato region the Exchange wishes to organize quickly. If Minnesota succeeds the plan would extend pooling to North and South Dakota in 1924.
