Two Produce Terminals Planned for Buffalo Trade
Buffalo will likely have two modern produce terminals in different city sections. The Nickel Plate and Erie Railroads will back a 60 unit facility with a 20 acre farmers market at Salley and Clinton, while the New York Central and Pennsylvania lines advance a 40 unit complex near the Elk Street Market. The Elk Street Market entities and officials spearheaded the second project, with construction by the John Johnson Corporation to finish in 136 days. Despite mutual interest, the two factions have not yet agreed on a single terminal solution.
